Is It Too Early To Tailgate?
Are you in full face paint yet? The Regular NFL season kicks off soon and we find ourselves in the mood for some tailgate food. Only this year we’re not going overboard when it comes to planning the menu. That’s not to say we can’t appreciate a guacamole football field with sour cream yard lines and tiny rye footballs (yum, just check Pinterest). We wouldn’t begrudge anyone from channeling their catering goddess. But we’re here to have fun with our family and friends and maybe a little less fretting and fixing this year. The grill keeps it simple with hamburgers, hotdogs, brats or kebobs you can prep the night before. And there’s nothing wrong with opening a bag of chips for the tailgate or house party and letting guests eat straight from the bag. Pair chips with this dip or a simple but satisfying warm dip like this. We also love a great serving dish, but we can also see the beauty in being low maintenance and just putting out a bag of chips and a jar of salsa – tastes just as good! Don’t try to do it all yourself. Ask everyone to bring something to pass. You can use free party planning sites like evite or punchbowl to invite guests and keep a running list of RSVPs and what everyone is bringing. Of course, text, email and phone invites are still fast and friendly and we kind of like that about them. What’s your position on Tailgate 2013? Check in on Facebook and let us know what you’re doing (or not), making and enjoying this year.
